The University of Notre Dame launches new software engineering program in Jerusalem

Adam Program

The Adam program will not only prepare participants for jobs in the growing tech industry, but also help develop their foreign language and humanities skills. Additionally, faculty from the University of Notre Dame will provide select modules to challenge students’ approach to software engineering.

“While we want to see our program participants acquire the professional skills needed in the field, we also want to empower them as individuals that need to prosper in the complex reality of our region.”

Sustainability Fellows 1

NDI Global Sustainability Fellowship Program launched spring 2023 in partnership with the Office of Sustainability

Several NDI global locations have been participating in the Global Sustainability Fellowship program in partnership with Notre Dame’s Sustainability Office. Each semester, fellows are selected for their ability to lead and support environmental initiatives during their time abroad and to help grow Notre Dame’s global sustainability work. They also share the knowledge they’ve gained, such as environmental policies and local environmental action initiatives, with student peers on study abroad and on campus upon their return.

Global works of art from Notre Dame Crucifix Initiative to be displayed at The History Museum

Launched in 2019, the Crucifix Initiative seeks to highlight the globalism of Catholicism — and to represent the diversity and internationalism of the University and its community — by building and displaying a collection of crucifixes from around the world.

Selected works of art from the Crucifix Initiative will be on view in an exhibit starting Thursday (Aug. 10) at The History Museum in South Bend, Indiana. Developed by Notre Dame International, the exhibit chronicles the history of international education at the University of Notre Dame, from its founding to today, with attention to the theme “Bringing the world to Notre Dame and Notre Dame to the world.”

Brian Friel Library launched at Notre Dame Dublin Global Gateway

On May 4th, 2023, the University of Notre Dame Dublin Global Gateway launched and dedicated the Brian Friel Library at O'Connell House.

“His understanding of how people tick, how small places work, means everyone can understand him. I can’t think of a playwright that has traveled so far across the world and made an impact on so many people over such a long period of time as Brian has. That’s why Friel really matters."
