Pamoja Summit designed to accompany African partners

The Pamoja ND Africa initiative, focused on unlocking emerging technology and evidence-based policymaking across the continent, hosted a two-day conference, “Pamoja Nairobi Partnership Summit,” on May 24 and 25 at Strathmore University School of Business in Nairobi, Kenya.

Notre Dame International’s director of Nairobi initiatives, Jackline Oluoch-Aridi, was a leader in managing relationships with the African partners on the continent as well as co-hosting the inaugural Pamoja Summit at Strathmore University.

“The Pamoja Initiative named after the Swahili word for "together" provides Notre Dame the unique opportunity for a vibrant engagement in University partnerships in the African continent in a meaningful and equitable way,” says Oluoch-Aridi. “ It is a collaborative interdisciplinary space that was proposed by faculty to provide opportunities for students, faculty and staff to learn in a bidirectional way with the African continent to produce impactful research and learning opportunities for all involved.

The Pamoja ND Africa initiative has 36 Notre Dame team members — faculty, researchers, sector leaders, and staff.
